Mozilla Mobile Browser - from Goobile

Hot on the success of Firefox , Mozilla's Minimo browser is targeted at "small consumer devices " whatever that means in reality. Still a little heavy for mobile phones but they are getting there. Came across this on Walter Adamson's useful blog: Goobile subtitled "News and analysis of mobile search, and mobile content distribution strategies". Sounds like I should read this blog everyday.

Major Mobile Web move by T-mobile

In a major change of heart T-mobile international announced plans to abandon the portal approach for WAP browsing and replace homepage with Google search. I assume this is based on the fact that most big screen users set a search engine as their home page. I think this is a mistake by T-mobile as (I know I know I keep saying this):

Fixed and mobile web browsing are fundamentally different: mobile is about info snacking not "surfing". What Is really needed is the radical and disruptive approach as offered by Tribes.

This notwithstanding the fact that Google is the worst mobile search there is but that's another story... watch this space. The Emperor has no mobile clothes.
