Vizzavi Selects Alatto to Provide MMS Products

Vizzavi Deutschland GmbH has announced the appointment of Alatto Technologies Ltd to supply consumer applications for Vodafone’s Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).

Vizzavi Deutschland is the wireless focused, multi-access portal jointly owned by Vodafone Group Plc and Vivendi Universal SA. Vizzavi is the exclusive mobile portal for all Vodafone D2 customers. In this role, Vizzavi is Vodafone’s content brand. Alatto Technologies is a Dublin-based wireless strategy and implementation specialist.

Under the agreement, Alatto will supply a range of customised MMS products that differentiate Vizzavi Deutschland’s service offering and are relevant to its target audiences. Subscribers with MMS enabled mobile phones will be able to send and receive rich multimedia content, including animated colour images and audio clips.

In addition to providing compelling content that will be readily understood and appreciated, Alatto will provide a complete end-to-end service, including integration with Vizzavi’s Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC), billing systems and CRM systems.

Alatto will also supply its proprietary Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution, which was developed in response to operators’ concerns about piracy and free distribution of valuable multimedia content. Alatto’s approach to DRM facilitates the growth of MMS by protecting content owners’ revenue while allowing end-user "super-distribution", the viral, fun factor that has been a key driver of text messaging’s popularity.
